Ministry of Forests was looking for a solution to a vandalism problem, outhouses in parks were constantly being vandalised and set on fire. The solution was to create a durable aesthetically pleasing concrete outhouses - something they said "couldn't be done". Dwight MacKay, willing to accept any challenge, rose to the occaision and now works closely with the Ministry and other recreation facilities to manufacture outhouses and concrete picnic tables for various parks around the province.

Commemorating Lewis & Clark 200th Anniversary.

MacKay Precast Products were commissioned by Centennial Contractors Enterprises Inc. to produce a mammoth map for the U.S. Military at Fort Lewis Washington, after several American precasters could not make the tight deadline requirement. "There were very few people who wanted to take on the project, Dwight stepped up to the plate" quote from U.S. Project Superintendent. This project was to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of historic Lewis & Clark expedition across Amerca.

The 37 piece puzzle-like map when fully assembled, measured 35ft. wide by 24ft. high. All the pieces were individually hand crafted, with textured surfaces and brass lettering denoting all the Territories, Forts and Rivers as known in 1860.

The actual trail and rivers were distinguished by the use of coloured caulking inset in recesses in each puzzle pieces. The map is currently being used as an educational tool for local school children and the general public who visit the military base.
